Seems like this may be the beginning of the end for BBVA NBA products, especially since BBVA recently sent out NBA checking account holders letters regarding their NBA checking account being converted to a ClearConnect Checking by June 28, 2017. On June 30, BBVA online and mobile banking will no longer provide the option to customize your profile with any NBA team. This will be the last that we will see from BBVA x NBA affiliation, and especially the 5X finals and all-star category.

BBVA NBA Checking Account Discontinuation Update:
- One June 28, 2017, your NBA checking account will be converted to a ClearConnect Checking Account.
- Your new debit card will have the same card number and PIN number.
- Your BBVA Online and Mobile Banking will no longer have the option to customize your profile with an NBA sports team
- If you have previously selected to customize your Online or Mobile Banking profile with an NBA sports team, it will no longer be available

Conclusion:
This is the last NBA Finals that you could reap the 5X category on the BBVA NBA Card and with discontinuity on their NBA Checking account, it’s almost certain that BBVA and NBA are no longer doing business with each other. Note that if you have BBVA NBA account, you’ll be automatically transferred to a ClearConnect checking account by June 28, 2017.
You will no longer be able to customize your profile with your favorite NBA teams, however, it’s necessary to look forward. Definitely curious as to who decides to partner with NBA.
