Citi Rewards+ Student Card 2,500 Bonus Points
Make use of the Rewards+ student card’s offer of: 2,500 ThankYou bonus points. The value of the 25k points will be worth about $25. Although it isn’t the best bonus offer there is in this platform, it’s still decent for a student card with a bonus.
You must charge your card with a minimum of $500 in the first 3 months of having your account open to be able to qualify. These points will be simple to gain.
Here are some ideas on meeting the spending requirement:
What are ThankYou Points Worth?
With the standard ThankYou points, you’ll be able to gain with this card, it won’t give you the same redemption options like regular ThankYou points. The Rewards+ Student card member will only be able to transfer your points towards JetBlue.
Your redemption choices will be:
- Travel booked through the ThankYou Travel Center
- Merchandise at Amazon.com or BestBuy.com
- Gift cards
- Statement credits
Every point will have a value of $0.01, which is the industrial average across many rewards credit cards in the market. You would be able to receive more value for your points if you have the non-student Citi Rewards+ Card. However, it’s not likely that you have a student card with a Citi Prestige or Citi Premier credit card.
Citi Rewards+ Student Card Top Features
Citi Rewards+ Student rounds up earnings for all expenses to the closest 1o points. Hypothetically, if you’ve spend $11 on lunch, you’ll gain 20 ThankYou points instead of 11.
In other words, you will be guaranteed to gain at least 10 points for each expense. This is a very beneficial perk if you normally make purchases under $10.
Citi Rewards+ Student will give you 10% of your redeemed points back. You’ll receive these redeemed points back at the end of every calendary year, for no more than 100,000 points. This will allow you to have up to 10,000 ThankYou points back annually ($100 value).
Every one of Citi’s card members will be able to enjoy several of Citi’s services such as:
- Citi Private Pass. Get tickets to: concerts, sporting events, comedy shows, etc before they open to the general public. Keep an eye out for exclusive VIP packages to specific events.
- Citi Concierge. Have assistance at any time of the day when you book a flight or hotel, or if you’re setting up a special occasion. Just call in for their customer service and a professional will be on the line with you shortly.
Bottom Line
The Citi Rewards+ Student Card is a great choice for you if you don’t normally spend much and want to build up your credit score. You will get a larger reward if you spend money for groceries and gas purchases. Most of the money you spend should go into those two options.
There won’t be any annual fees attached with this card, and they guarantee at least 10 points for every expense and a 10% point rebate.
However, if you typically spend a lot, then you should consider a non-student credit card instead of a student card to accumulate your credit score.
