The Five Back VISA Gift Card issued by Black-Hawk earns 5% back at select merchant when you use the card to make the necessary purchases, however, it’s been to our notice that CVS will no longer be a participating merchant and any purchase with the card towards CVS will not trigger the 5% back for you. Now, this may vary depending on location, but it’s confirmed that the end date is January 20, 2017. Now, CVS still shows on the FIVE Back website, however, this may be lag on the websites part. This is unfortunate news, definitely for Manufactured Spenders looking to take advantage of the 5%. All good things must come to an end sooner or later.

CVS Leaves Five Back In-Depth:
Now, considering how profitable this was for Manufactured Spenders; It’s all the more logical to say that MSers were profiting exponentially and considering how big of a bang the exposure was for CVS participating with FIVEBack, this was bound to happen sooner or later. Honestly, the promotion ended pretty quick and this really does give us a glimpse at the future of this program if a big merchant like CVS leaves the program at any time. Makes me question the viability towards how profitable these cards really are.
CVS Leaves Five Back Summary:
- CVS will no longer be a participating merchant by January 20, 2017.
- Any purchase with the card towards CVS will not trigger the 5% (Uncertain whether cards between now and the 20th will get credit.)
Conclusion:
On January 20, CVS will be pulling out of the FIVE Back Program. The Five Back VISA that earns 5% cash back will no longer be available on CVS purchases. This could most likely link towards how costly it was for CVS to participate. Any purchase with the card towards CVS will not trigger the 5% (Uncertain whether cards between now and the 20th will get credit.) Terrible news for manufactured spenders and this news could very well discredit the whole FiveBack program.
