Chase has been sending out emails to legacy INK Cash members where they were not originally apart of Ultimate Rewards. This email is to notify legacy INK Cash members only. Starting January 29, 2017, “your Ink Cash® Rewards will become a part of Chase Ultimate Rewards! Your Cash Back rewards that have not already expired will automatically transfer to Chase Ultimate Rewards where you’ll have even more benefits and options.” Your cash back rewards will not expire as long as you have your account active, you can book travel online and there’s no minimum to redeem. Again, this has no direct change to ordinary INK Cash cards.
Editor’s Note:If you currently have an Ink Plus that is not maxed out, you will be able to save big on the annual fee and downgrade to the Ink Cash with the ability to transfer if you choose so.

Ink Cash Ultimate Rewards In-Depth:
Ink Cash points currently can only be valid for cash back unless you have a premium card like the Ink Plus, Ink Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, or the Chase Sapphire Preferred. However, starting January 29, 2017, you will be able to redeem your UR points earned from your Chase Ink Cash Business towards redemption for travel. Keep in mind that no other fee-free Chase card has the ability to do this. Considering that this card will soon earn UR premium points, we can only conclude that you can transfer your points to travel partners and redeem them at 1.25 cent a point. This could be pretty great news for those of you that aren’t looking to pay that premium card fee anymore or those that do not have a premium card to act as a catalyst towards point transfer.
Ink Cash Business Credit Card Features:
- Earn 5% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on cellular phone, landline, internet and cable TV services each account anniversary year
- Earn 2% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at gas stations and restaurants each account anniversary year
- Earn 1% cash back on all other card purchases with no limit to the amount you can earn
- 0% introductory APR for 12 months on purchases and balance transfers
- Employee cards at no additional cost
- No Annual Fee
Conclusion:
The Ink Cash Business Card will effectively earn you Ultimate Rewards Points instead of Cash Back starting January 29, 2017. This could be exceptionally great news for those of you that aren’t looking to pay that premium card fee anymore or those that do not have a premium card to act as a catalyst towards point transfer. Cash Back rewards that have not already expired will automatically transfer to Chase Ultimate Rewards. If you currently have an Ink Plus that is not maxed out, you will be able to save big on the annual fee and downgrade to the Ink Cash with the ability to transfer. Flat out false article. This is NOT possible.
The article has been updated to reflect that this was an email notifying only legacy INK Cash Members. Ordinary Ink Cash cardholders are not affected. Thank you
This is not true. We’re in Feb. now, and I still can’t transfer from Ink Cash to UR.
