Safe to say that we all knew this was coming when Fidelity switched payment networks from American Express to VISA in what appeared to be one of the bigger industry “divorces” of 2016. Well, one of the “flavors of Platinum cards” is the Platinum Card® from American Express for Fidelity Investments. If you’re currently holding onto this card, you should have received mail regarding language of discontinuation.
Starting April 9, 2018, the Fidelity Platinum Card from American Express will no longer be available to the public. If you recently paid the annual fee ($320), you will receive credit for a prorated amount of the annual fee. Note that as of February 28, 2018, you will no longer have the ability to add additional members onto your account.
