The READYdebit® Visa Mint Control Prepaid Card could be a great checking alternative. With no risk of Overdraft fees or bounced checks, no credit or chexSystem check. I emphasize that this is a prepaid card… not a Credit card! It would be nice to see a rewards in addition to the purchases you make but with a no monthly fee attached… This card does seem a lot better than the READYdebit Visa Prepaid card. Keep in mind that there is a $4.94 Activation fee and $2.50 ATM Fee. A reasonable alternative to a prepaid card would be a secured card much like the Discover IT Secured Card or even just a basic checking account.
