Sam’s Club recently sent out emails regarding a certain product that will certainly not making it towards the eligibility list for Cash back. Sam’s Club Mastercard or Mastercard Business cardholders will not receive cash back on tobacco product and smoking related products (e-cigs,etc.,) starting November 1, 2017. A quick reminder, this card earns 5% cashback on gas(on first $6,000 per year in purchases, then 1% on purchases after), 3% cashback on dining and travel and 1% cashback on other purchases. All on top of no annual fee.

Conclusion:
Of all evidence, Sam’s Club is moving away from tobacco product in general and it could be a good move. Can’t necessarily put too much emphasis on it because that’d be subjecting others to an idealogy that’s been integrated into our public for decades now.
