SquareCash
Square Cash is fast, conveniently flexible and offered on a iOS and Android platform. The app allows you to send money to other people in a matter of minutes. Just type in the user’s email address or square cash id and send money. It’s so convenient and so very much free. Meaning no charges for transactions or services (unless you’re a business user, which would be a 1.5% cut of your transactions). Note that if you’re sending money or payments via credit card on square cash, there will be a 3% fee attached (much like Venmo). Money typically takes 3-4 days to deposit into your account.
Venmo
Venmo makes it easy to send payments to anyone with a phone number or email address, completely free. You only pay a 3% fee if you want to send money from a credit card or non-major debit card. Once you have an account, sending money is as easy as sending cash you already have in your Venmo account or through a linked bank account or debit card. Those transactions can be public or private, and you can either cash out the money you have in Venmo to your bank account, or leave it there for future money transfers. Money you cash out is usually in your bank account within a business day.
Google Wallet
Google Wallet offers a preferred way for you to send your money to people quick and easily. The service expands into something much more than that. You can make contactless payments in brick-and-mortar stores, and online stores. Google Wallet ranks for being the fastest cash transfer provider around and they truly deserve such a rank with cashing out money from your account to bank account within just a day. It’s free, affordable, convenient and better yet, you only really need a gmail account to use Google Wallet.
PayPal
Sending money with PayPal is easy and free for personal transactions as long as you use your PayPal account, or an authorized debit card or bank account (fees come into play when you use credit cards), and as long as you’re sending money within the United States. When you pay for goods or services using your PayPal account, the person providing the service gets hit with a fee for your transaction. Once you have the money in your PayPal account, cashing out to a bank account usually takes several days.
Xoom
Xoom, a PayPal company, specializes in sending amounts up to $2,999 to 57 countries quickly. Whether you pay by bank account, debit card or credit card, transfers can arrive within minutes to many destinations. Xoom partners with major banks abroad, allowing users to have money delivered to bank accounts or, in some countries, for cash pickup or as mobile phone reloads. Unfortunately transfers from one bank account to another have a maximum fee of $4.99 in over 60% of countries served, fees can be high if you use a debit or credit card.
Summary:
It’s no surprise that sending money online, no matter what the circumstances are, is now easier than it’s ever been. There are tons of services that make it easy to transfer money with just a phone number or email address! Each service offers something uniquely appealing; Venmo has the best mobile platform, Google Wallet has the fastest cash-out platform, etc. Whether it be splitting the check at lunch, buying something off OfferUp (or any other local market app), or even paying a share of your bills, cash transfer apps make it extremely easier to do so.
