Seems like some sudden sequential news from the Five Back Simon VISA Gift Card issued by Black-Hawk as they announce discontinuing their card.For those of you that aren’t familiar with this gift card, it earns 5% back at select merchants when you use the card to make the necessary purchases. November 1, 2017 would be the discontinuation date, however, all cards will still remain valid and could be utilized even after the discontinuation date.

Simon Mall 5 Back Gift Card Discontinues In-Depth:
With a ton of popular merchants leaving the program including CVS, it’s almost of all evidence that the Simon Mall 5 Back would have some struggle with their program and it seems that they have succumb to the final option of discontinuation. For those of you that were big on Manufactured Spending on this card, you’ll have until November 1 to grab some gift cards. As I previously said, this was bound to happen sooner or later and as I recalled on a previous post , “this really does give us a glimpse at the future of this program if a big merchant like CVS leaves the program.”
CVS Leaves Five Back Summary:
- The 5% Back VISA Simon Gift Card will be discontinued on 11/1/17.
- All cards will remain valid and can continue to be used after 11/1/17.
- With a ton of popular merchants leaving the program including CVS, it’s almost of all evidence that discontinuing the Simon 5back was a near future.
Conclusion:
On November 1, 2017, Simon’s Mall will no longer offer the Five Back Simon VISA Gift Card as it will be discontinued. Assumingly enough, from context, it seems that just the Simon’s Mall FiveBack VISA Gift Card variant will be discontinued, leaving the general FiveBack gift card alive and well.
