Best Comenity Bank Credit Cards
Now, most of the cards that Comenity has to offer... are flat-out inadequate to say the least, after offering a 10% to 20% on first purchase after approval at specific stores, the card will then throw in a couple uninspiring rewards here and there. Some of the cards comes with Birthday freebies at a specific store, but keep in mind there's usually a minimum spending requirement attached to it and it cannot be combined with any other offer.
Considering if you shop at one specific store a lot, it may be worth checking out to see if the rewards program offered suits you. I don't mean to demoralize anyone currently looking into Comenity's cards, because there are a few cards that do have some interesting benefits attached that we'll be taking great consideration into blogging about!
Virgin America
*Comenity Bank recently announced what will be a ending partnership with Virgin America. *
Be aware, this card may not be worth it unless you fly a lot with Virgin America. This card is the only card in Comenity's profile that offers Airline Co-brand rewards and perks in Black (Visa Signature) and White (Premium Visa Signature). The sign up bonus sometimes even reaches 20,000 for the Virgin America Black Card and 30,000 points for the Virgin America White Card. The only flaw I can really find is that there's no waived annual fee, Black VISA is $49, and White VISA is $149.
Marathon Visa
Failing gas prices are a good news for Marathon VISA cardholders, because when gas falls, the value of your rebate increases because the rebate value is fixed per gallon. To find out your reward value: dividing your per gallon reward by the price of gas. Now the biggest issue with this card is that it's not a national gas provider and may not be beneficial for most people that don't have a Marathon Gas Station in the area.
BJ’s Mastercard
If you shp at BJ's frequently, this may be a great option for you! The BJ's Mastercard is beneficial for BJ's In-Club and BJs.com purchases and could earn you 5% cash back on your purcahses and 10 cents off per gallon of gass at BJ's select gas stations. Now the only flaw is that it'd be rather troublesome to get 5% back on BJ's wholesale club.
Easiest Comenity Bank Credit Cards Approvals
Comenity cards do offer easy to earn credit cards through Shopping Cart Trick. Now, out of all the cards that Comenity has to offer with Shopping Cart Tricks, most customers recommend Overstock and Victoria Secret Cards. Be sure not to have pop-up blocker on!
I am HIGHLY upset over the closure of your marathon accounts and not offer anything to replace it! I used that card to pay for travel expenses and to pay for trips I have booked.
I have tried to cancel an application that I filled out on a weekend (tried calling immediately but they were closed until Monday) – they are telling me it is against the law to cancel. I opted immediately not to get the furniture and wanted to cancel. They tell me to mail a letter to cancel which is ridiculous because the approval process will be completed before they receive the email. I’m very frustrated because anything I read says an application can be cancelled.
Do Comenity have a car loan line of credit/account, with a decent interest rate
Comenity is a potentially predatory card issuer. I used their BJ’s Perk World Mastercard on purchases earning 5% cash back in BJ’s and 10 cents/gallon on BJ’s gas. They closed the account within 5 weeks. I paid the first bill in full long before the due date and did not transfer any balances. If you maximize the use of the card, they will drop you. I have excellent credit, and needless to say, no other card issuer has ever done this.
My mom made a purchase via one of the stores noted above & returned the item because it didn’f fit. She notified them she was returning the item but she incurred a late payement & the store & Comenity refused to wave it. She too is disabled, on a fixed income, her shopping by mail credit history is good. Still they refuse to waive the charges. And the late fee & possibly a return shipping fee continues to accrue interest on the balance new late payment fee’s etc. The balance is now almost 3x’s greater than the item she initially purchased. This is shameful on the part of the creditor. Having just settled in a new community I decided to do some mail order shopping via hSN. I had til the end of January 2018 to return the item without charges, interest, etc. Or so I thought. I chose to return the item after researching some of the components built into it & learning that because of those components the item won’t function great as advertised. Because of my disability I have to go slower when I do things so i’d not fully reviewed the details in the HSN bill. When I got around to it I saw that I was being charged interest even thou I was on the 6 payment flex plan HSN offers; that the credit extended to me was a revolving credit account who’s interest clock starts at the point of purchase. And like my mom interest was accruing on the interest. So I called HSN to pay in full the cost to avoid those fees & said they can reimburse me when they receive the returned items. BUT they said I only needed to pay the current flex pays & the next month to give the returned items time to be posted & clear. BUT I got another HSN bill aka: Comentity credit account bill & they bill me again interest on the outstanding NOT YET DUE HSN flex payment plan. AND upon HSNS receipt of the returned item HSN refunded me BUT failed to deduct the return shipping fee from the refund so the balance could be zero’d out. SOOOOO…. I ended up with a less than $10 balance that of course would incur interest as long as it sat there unpaid. So I paid it asap because, AND I’VE SEEN THIS KIND OF CREDIT BEHAVIOR BACK IN THE 70’s- 90’s & it’s label was PREDITORIAL CREDIT CARD LENDING PRACTICES. My heart is bruised when I see this kind of behavior & said I would check to see who is the credit vendor & check out their practices before I make a purchase & it it’s what my family just experienced then I will opt out of purchasing from that vendor or if it’s absolutely necessary pay with cash or use a major credit card: VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS, etc. And I gotta tell ya I am in need, disabled & was all ramped up to do some replacement wardrobe, housing furnishings, etc. But I’m slowing my roll because of the rise of non consumer friendly credit vendors again.
P.S: Re: HSN flex pay, how it’s billed & Comenity reps advise during credit calls: When you receive the bill it’s tricky cause you have the flex pay amount & the minimum due amount. And when Comenity called about the 1st payment, which I admit I was late in addressing as it was a busy time of the season, but when they called the rep advised me to pay an amount which turned out to be either the minimum payment of the 2 items I purchased from HSN or, honestly I don’t really know. But when I looked at my original order on HSN my flex pay was $100+. So Comenity only asked to pay a minimum of some sort & said I’d be up to date vs. having me pay the 1st flexpay in full. Again another non customer friendly action on the part of the creditor. I wish I had something more positive to say but this is the reality of the matter & I fear others are experiencing the same thing to their financial peril so I’m sharing my experiencing in hopes that others will be more caucious of the unforseen charge expenses they may incur via store card issuer company credit practices. As they say CASH Is King.
Comenity Bank needs to hire people that have customer service training that know how to speak to people. When they call that have questions about their bill.
I called the bank and was spoken to rudely several times by people that need training on how to deal with
customers. After all excellent customer service is what wants a successful business.
I’ll very disappointed with this company ,I have been a long time customer. NO MORE.
Credit score – 533. In 2 hours was approved for $350 Victoria’s Secret, $250 J. Crew, $250 Boscov’s. Got the pop-ups on the first try after putting in my billing address. Normally use Chrome, using Firefox for shopping cart trick stores. Hoping for Wayfair and Sportsmans Guide… we’ll see!
