Style
Housed in a 1903 Beaux Arts gem, XV Boston pairs the building’s original, elegant features with contemporary design and modern amenities. The dimly-lit lounge comes with a distinguished and soothing tone, with original marble, cast brass railing, and gorgeous glass cage elevators. Seating in cream and espresso, a roaring fireplace, adds warmth to the room, while a zebra-print rug comes with some pizzazz.
Rooms
All 63 rooms and suites at XV Beacon feature a working fireplace, floral arrangements, and toiletries from Boston-based line Fresh. The 395-square-foot Contemporary Classic Room comes with coffee color schemes and is furnished with a hessian sofa. Plus, it comes with surround-sound stereo, original artwork, and a King bed with a cashmere throw. The marble bathroom is spacious with a rainforest shower and sunken whirlpool tub combination. It even comes with a separate vanity area and large wardrobe. The heated towel rack is a nice touch.
Facilities
There’s no in-house pool or spa, but XV Beacon does offer a small gym onsite that’s open 24 hours a day. It comes with in-suite yoga, boxing classes, and spa treatments available by appointment. If you want a “legit” gym, the hotel sells day passes to Boston Sports Club across the street and the Sports Club/LA nearby. There’s also a rooftop patio with panoramic views of the city and a hot tub, open seasonally.
Some other features include: a Lexus chauffeur service around town, personalized business cards for your stay, complimentary shoe shine, iPad rentals, 24-hour pressing and laundry services, air purifiers, long-term luggage storage, and more.
Food & Drink
At XV Beacon, we only have one dining option: Mooo by Chef Jamie Mammano. The restaurant’s claim to fame is steak, but with contemporary and regional twists. Not to be outdone by the food, Mooo also offers a full bar and an award-winning wine list of more than 325 labels.
Service
There are only 7 guestrooms on each floor, we expect a remarkably intimate service at XV Beacon, and you are not disappointed. Check-in was a breeze with the helpful front desk. The knowledgeable concierge and friendly doormen give you local tips on where to get breakfast and neighborhood sites. We always find fresh fruit available on your floor. And when you arrive back to your room after a long day, you’ll find chocolates on your pillows and light music playing from the stereo.
Since most of the hotel’s guests are return customers, the hotel staff make a point to get to know them well. They’ll keep notes on your favorite beverage, newspaper preference, and more. So when you do go back, they’ll have everything arranged in your room prior to check-in.
Location
XV Beacon sits on Beacon Hill, a quiet area with antique shops an hidden gardens. The hotel lies across the street from the Boston Athenaeum and Boston Common. The Massachusetts State House is down the road, and State Street, Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market are within walking distance.
Address: 15 Beacon Street, Boston.
