Style
The London West Hollywood looks a lot like a private, modest apartment building, so it blends into the residential street well. But once we stepped foot inside, we were taken away into a world of luxury where gleaming marble and velvet-covered sofas await. The rich interiors with soft colors, and lighting were put together by designer guru David Collins, who was the creative genius behind some of London’s poshest restaurants and bars.
The dog-friendly hotel has official mascots, two English bulldogs named Winston and Churchill, who hang out at the hotel all day. Replicas of the dogs can be found throughout the hotel and is a fun hotel design element.
Rooms
All 226 guestrooms at the London West Hollywood are suites with a minimum of 725 square feet, and all feature a balcony or terrace, retro-influenced decor designed by David Collins himself and oversized, spa-like baths.
Our Chelsea Suite felt elegant in muted, calming hues of gold, cream, sage green, and chocolate brown and accented with luxe finishes like bleached oak, shiny chrome and embossed white leather. The Waterworks luxury bathroom held a deep soaking tub with a separate double shower and C.O. Bigelow apothecary products. But our personal favorite room feature is the Plum Automatic Wine Dispenser in the wet bar.
If you want the all-out luxe experience, go for the London’s Penthouse. The largest of its kind in all of Los Angeles, the two-story “villa in the sky” features a total of 11,000 square feet, custom interiors by Vivienee Westwood and a private rooftop deck that’s large enough for 300 guests.
Facilities
The London West Hollywood is home to a rooftop pool, a fitness center, a state-of-the-art screening room and a whole floor dedicated as a press junket facility.
The guest-only rooftop, saltwater swimming pool offers plenty of chaise lounges, rentable private cabanas, fire pits, and sweeping, panoramic views.
The Technogym fitness center provides complimentary bottled water, earbuds, and towels. Personal training is available upon request.
The luxurious screening room sits on the ground floor and has room for 110 people with super plush seats, Dolby surround sound and a private reception area.
Food & Drink
Everyone who stays at the London West Hollywood will get to experience the Boxwood Restaurant, as the European-style breakfast here is complimentary. Headed by Executive Chef Anthony Keene, this all-day dining and Sunday brunch outlet serves innovative, seasonal menus that incorporate local flavors. We likened the food to New Californian cuisine with a British flair. Examples will include tortilla jalapeno soup made with coconut milk and smoked lamb ribs with Indian curry species.
You can take your meal outside with Boxwood on the Roof, served poolside. We suggest saving this for after dark when the fire pits are lit and crackling.
The comfortable Sitting Room is a good place for guests to relax and work, as well as enjoy all-day dining. We indulged in afternoon tea here and highly recommend it.
Inspired by English country house conservatories, the smart yet relaxed London Bar sits next to the lobby serves small plates and cocktails. The happy hour here is particularly impressive for both selection and price.
Service
The service at the London West Hollywood is friendly and intuitive. The concierge is remarkably resourceful, and all our requests were fulfilled by knowledgeable and eager-to-please staff who always addresses you by name. Rumor has it, there’s a high chance they can even secure tickets to sold-out events.
Location
The London West Hollywood is just steps from the famous Sunset Strip, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars nearby. Beverly Hills and Melrose Avenue are walkable from the hotel, Hollywood Boulevard is a short drive away, it takes about 30 minutes to drive to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) without traffic.
Address: 1020 North San Vicente Boulevard, West Hollywood.

The hotel’s location is great is you enjoy the Sunset Strip. And the rooftop pool, as well as the top-notch concierge, do not disappoint. That’s why we feel the London West Hollywood is one of the best luxury hotels in the City of Angels.
