Style
The swanky St. Regis feels rich and regal, from the lush landscaping in the circular driveway to the sophisticated interiors with sparkling chandeliers and sleek marble floors. The fresh floral arrangements and curated art punctuated the public spaces with drama, while the rich mahogany furniture maintained timeless elegance at every turn.
Rooms
All 232 rooms at the St. Regis are fit for royalty with at least 500 square feet each (the largest hotel rooms in the city). Plus, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing exquisite views of either the Houston skyline or a lush, green park.
The 675-square-foot Grand Lux Corner King Room featured an earthly color palette of beige, brown and dusty orange accented with rich leather furnishings. Luxurious amenities includes the sumptuous signature bed with Frette linens, a fully-stocked minibar and Remède toiletries. Modern touches included a flat-screen TV, Bose radio and plenty of bedside outlets.
Facilities
The small fitness room, equipped with cardio machines and free weights, looks out onto the outdoor swimming pool. The deck area is decorated with comfy chaise lounges and big umbrellas, the perfect place for you to relax with a Bloody Mary in hand. After a whirlwind day of sites and shopping, visit to the Spa at The St. Regis for soothing massages.
Although WiFi was not included in the room rate, you can get access to a complimentary shuttle to any location within a three-mile radius of the hotel.
Food & Drink
The St. Regis brand is known for its luxurious Afternoon Tea, and the Houston property was no exception. There were a few options to choose from, but all include a selection of loose-leaf teas, accompanied by sweet and savory delights like scones, finger sandwiches and parfaits.
Modern American fare with a Texas twist was available for breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch at The Remington Restaurant. Standouts included the Southwest Caesar salad with avocado and roast corn and the mesquite-grilled ribeye steak.
The swanky Remington Bar, a local favorite, served up classic cocktails, bar bites and dinner, with live music on Friday and Saturday nights. The Wine Room was also available for private gatherings with some of California’s finest vintages and a curated chef’s menu.
Service
From arrival to departure, you’ll experience an unparalleled level of bespoke service at the St. Regis Houston, far exceeding your high expectations. Every interaction with staff was an absolute pleasure. Your bags are whisked away upon arrival, and the front desk staff are kind enough to accommodate an early check-in. When you arrive to your room, your luggage will be waiting for you. Plus, you even get a personalized note and chocolate-covered strawberries. The concierge made great dinner recommendations and helps you book tickets to an Astros game. Of course, the complimentary personal butler service was the standout here. Unpacking your suitcases, delivering your morning coffee and newspaper, and pressing your garments, all with a smile.
Location
Situated near the vibrant city center, the St. Regis was strategically located between River Oaks, a prestigious residential neighborhood, and the Galleria, a mecca for luxury shopping and world-class entertainment. The hotel was close to Memorial Park and Downtown was just nine miles away.
