The MileagePlus GO Visa Prepaid Card, issued by Republic Bank & Trust Company, just dropped as the first prepaid card program offered to consumers with the opportunity to directly earn miles for purchases in the U.S. All I can really say is that it’s nothing too fancy as we had anticipated.
Now, the card does earn 1 Miles per dollar spent, however, it will be capped at 2,500 miles per month at an essential 1:1 ratio. On top of that, you should expect this prepaid card to have a whopping $85 annual fee attached. Now, it’s worth noting that the purpose of this card is generally for the reload-ability, allowing consumer access to the keen benefits of digital commerce as well as making payments in mobile applications/online, and withdraw cash from ATMs without the need to open any traditional bank accounts or credit card accounts.

MileagePlus GO Visa Prepaid Card Analysis:
As briefly stated, the e MileagePlus GO Visa Prepaid Card earns 1x UA points. It will be capped at 2,500 miles a month. I’m assuming this prepaid is a way for those who are stuck in the corner and not able to get their hands on a United card on possibilities that you’re over the 5/24 Rule or have a not-so-well-off credit score since there is no credit check involved.

Conclusion:
the MileagePlus GO Visa Prepaid Card recently launched and here’s what you should expect. You’ll earn 1x United Miles capped at 2,500 miles a month at a 1:1 face-value with an $85 annual fee and PIN-based transactions do not earn you the 1x points. With fees after fees attached on this card: 3.5% foreign transaction fee, $2,50 ATM withdrawal fee( no fee at MoneyPass ATMs), and a $9.95 card replacement fee.
I’m more keen to say that I’m reluctant to get this card. If this prepaid offered more inventory, the 25% MPX Bonus, and PIN-less debit transactions, then utilizing this card for MS shouldn’t be that big of a problem. Otherwise, I’d recommend swaying towards better options: American Express Bluebird, Serve, and REDcard and if you’re still looking for other deals, you can find our complete list of Credit Card Bonuses from our exclusive list!
