- The incentive deposit to the new member is considered a bonus and may be reportable to the IRS on Form 1099-MISC (or Form 1042-S, if applicable).

Conclusion
All in all, the current promotion from BCU is a great promotion from those looking for an easy bonus. You will receive a bonus for features you would need with your banking experience. However, I would only recommend this promotion only if it triggers a soft pull.
