Susan G. Komen Cash Rewards Visa $200 Bonus Cash
Make use of the Susan G. Komen Cash Rewards Visa credit card’s introductory offer of: $200 bonus cash put onto your rewards balance. You must charge your card with a minimum of $1,000 in the first 90 days of having your account open to be able to qualify.
Here are some ideas on meeting the spending requirement:
• Plastiq: Plastiq allows you to pay for expenses that you generally won’t be able to with your card like rent, tuition, auto lease, mortgage payment, and more. There’s a 2.5% processing fee for using your credit card. However, this’ll be worth the card bonus you’ll get. There’s also a referral program where you can earn “Fee-Free Dollars” to use towards processing fees. See our Plastiq review.
• Fund Checking accounts with your card: Many banks will allow you to fund the opening deposit with a credit card. Consider opening Checking accounts that also offer a sign-up bonus. This way, you can work towards bonuses from two different sources. Big banks like Chase, HSBC, Huntington, and TD Bank have great offers and allow credit card funding. You can generally fund anywhere from $50 to $1,000 towards the opening deposit with a credit card, depending on the bank.
• Buy gift cards: Consider buying gift cards with your credit card that you can then spend later at your leisure. Individual merchant cards (restaurants, gas stations, supermarkets, etc.) generally don’t have purchase fees, so this is a plus. On the other hand, American Express and Visa gift cards will have purchase fees. Amazon gift cards are a great idea as you can shop for almost anything there with no purchase fees either. Unfortunately, Citi credit cards tend to code gift card purchases as Cash Advances and there’ll be a fee. Call in to customer service and lower your Cash Advance limit to $0 before purchasing gift cards. You can also buy discounted gift cards as well from Raise or find gift cards on eBay.
• Everyday spending & bills: Always using your credit card for everyday spending, such as for dining, gas, groceries, etc. You can also use your credit card to pay for things like insurance bills, property taxes and income taxes. However, you’ll have to consider the convenience fees.
Earning Susan G. Komen Cash Rewards
Having the Susan G. Komen Cash Rewards Visa card is a great match for you if you don’t spend too much money. They offer great rewards, but their rewards structure is a little difficult to understand.
The largest rewards rate for 3% cash back will be in the category of your choosing. You will be able to pick from one of the 6 different choices:
- Online shopping
- Home improvement and furnishings
But, if you don’t pick a category in time, it will be defaulted to 3% gas. With the 2% option, it will include expenses made at grocery stores and wholesale clubs. This way you will be able to gain unlimited 1% cash back for other expenses that you’ve made.
Using the 2% and 3% rates are capped to apply only to the first $2,500 made altogether in spending each quarter. Other than that, the rewards rate will go back to 1% for each expense.
However, if your spending changes, you are able to update your category to fit your expenses once a month with the mobile banking app or website.
Bank of America Preferred Rewards Members Bonus
Sign up for Bank of America Preferred Rewards and benefit from a 25% – 75% rewards increase for each expense. Hypothetically, if a $100 purchase that will gain you 3% ($3), it will actually gain you $3.75, $4.50, or $5,2.5 depending on the tier you have when you make that purchase on your account.
To be eligible for the BoA Preferred Rewards program you have to:
- Have an active BoA personal checking account or an Advantage Banking account, and
- Maintain a 3-month average combined balance in your BoA accounts and/or your Merrill Edge and Merrill Lynch investment accounts.
|Tier||Qualifying Combined Balance|
Customers who already signed up for the Preferred Rewards will get a 25% bonus for the Gold, 50% for the Platinum, and 75% for the Platinum Honors tiers.
Redeeming Susan G. Komen Cash Rewards
You can redeem your cash rewards at any given time towards:
- Statement credits
- Deposits made directly into a BoA checking or savings account
- Credits to eligible Merrill Lynch or Merrill Edge accounts
You can set up immediate redemptions towards a qualifying Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, or Merrill Edge account with a starting minimum of $25.
Susan G. Komen Foundation Support
If your Susan G. Komen Cash Rewards Visa account stays active for a minimum of 90 days, and if you use it to make at least one transaction, Bank of America will donate $3 to this foundation. Plus, this organization will receive 0.08% of all store expenses that have been put onto your card. You can even get $3 each time you’ve had your account renewed if it doesn’t have a balance of $0.
Bank of America promises to give $3 million to the Susan G. Komen Foundation Support from their credit and checking program from June 2015 to December 2020.
In this platform, you won’t see lots of no annual fee credit cards that have an introductory offer of $200 as a welcome bonus. There are also not a lot of cash back cards that will allow you to pick your own 3% category option each month. They have a large range of options like online shopping, if you think that’s the best way to use your 3% rewards to its full potential.
For people that are eligible for the Preferred Rewards program, they will be able to increase their rewards rate from the average 3% to at least 5.25% if they have a big balance with BoA or Merrill Lynch.
However, they have a low ceiling for rewards that you can gain with the 2% and 3% rates together. Since this is one of their catches, the Susan G. Komen Cash Rewards Visa card won’t be a great option for people who spend lots of money.
If you are looking for a larger reward for your larger spending habits, then you should consider a different credit card option.
